Khandbari
Khandbari is a hill town in the eastern Nepal, which is in Sankhuwasabha District, Koshi Zone and part of Eastern Development Region. This hill town is built on the top of the ridge about 3,600 feet above the sea level. It is the main and the largest town of the district and also serves as the administrative headquarter of Sankhuwasabah District. The district got its name from two rivers that flows in the district, Sankhuwa and Sabayah khola, which finally meets with Arun River, Sankhuwa meets Arun up north of Tumling and Sabayah meets Arun just south of Tumlingtar, both rivers is well known for its crystal clear water.
Khandbari is served with, one of the best airstrip that you can find in N-epal’s hilly regions. It is in the plateau of Tumling as its name speaks for itself Tumlingtar, meaning Tumling Plateau, which is just few hours trek from Khandbari. Khandbari is also a stopover place for tourists trekking to Makalu base camp, with many small hotels and accommodation houses, which are built on either sides of the street of Khandbari, which runs for 100s of meters to kilometer. For a hill town it is a developed one, with gardens, electricity, schools, college, hospital and other modern facilities.

i am interested in visiting khandbari on foot via dharan-hile-basntpur.pl.suggest us the root in which maxm.distance is covered by a vehicle.whether jeep is available up to legua ghat from hile.
Hi there, there are few ways that you can visit Khandbari. First one via Hile to Piluwa khola. Second one Manglabare - Chainpur to Khandbari. Or fly to Tumlingtar and then short drive to Khandbari… Thanks IkimaNepal.com
