Yatra Thulung , photographer of Nepal and the founder of IkimaNepal.com was born in Singapore in the late 1960s while his father was serving in the British Gurkhas and family stationed in Singapore. He is the second of the three sons in the family. He did his schooling in Itahari and Dharan and later attended Law campus in Kathmandu for his Law studies. But, photography took his interest and while in Kathmandu he studied photography.
This is how he began photography. Since then he has come through a long way. His younger brother is his greatest supporter and admires all his work. Thulung is also a Nikon man and so are his two brothers, it’s like family brand. Since, day one of his journey as a photographer he has worked for magazines, calenders, daily newspaper, prospectus and for four years worked with the weekly newspaper.  He also participated in the photo exhibition subject based on lifestyle in 2004.  He has received numerous awards and special award in fauna catagory in “Nature through lens” photo competition in 2007, which was organised by wild conservation nepal (WCN). He currently resides in Tarahara with his family, which is located in the Eastern Nepal. At present he is working as a chief photographer in a studio which he began a decade ago. His main interest is in Wildlife and Bird Watching . He is also a founding member of Vijaypur FM.
